Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells (PBMCs)

Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells (PBMCs) are a diverse group of blood cells that include lymphocytes (T cells, B cells, NK cells) and monocytes, which play crucial roles in the body’s immune response. In medical research, particularly in the fields of immunology, cancer, and hematology, PBMCs are invaluable for their versatility and the depth of information they can provide about the immune system’s functioning and disease processes.

We produce PBMCs from whole blood and leukapheresate by processing samples using density gradient centrifugation (Ficoll overlay). 

Our PBMCs are frozen in less than 5 hours from donation. Cell freezing is achieved using CryoStor CS10®, a highly effective cryopreservation media in addition to a controlled rate freezing device ensuring that our PBMCs maintain the highest possible levels of viability and functionality. Replicating this speed of isolation is difficult for most laboratories to achieve and is a good reason to consider pre-isolated PBMCs for your research.

We have a large inventory of ready-to-order frozen PBMCs which can be searched via our online stock system. Most of our PBMCs are from HLA-typed leukapheresis donations. We can provide large numbers of cells/vials from a single donor, or cells from many donors where you select the donor profile.
