Aflatoxins  

Aflatoxins are the secondary metabolites produced by mould of the Aspergillus family, and can contaminate a variety of crops like peanuts, cereals, grains, tree nuts, etc. At present, a number of naturally-occurring aflatoxins have been identified, which include aflatoxin B1, aflatoxin B2, aflatoxin G1, and aflatoxin G2. Among them, aflatoxin B1 is the most common and toxic, which can cause liver cancer and other disease in human. Therefore, there are strict limits and regulations for aflatoxin total in food and feed all over the world.

Product Design

The principle of Aflatoxin Total Immunoaffinity Column is an antigen-antibody reaction. Antibodies to total aflatoxins are immobilised on an in-column gel. The toxins in the sample are extracted, filtered, diluted and then slowly passed through the immunoaffinity column, where total aflatoxins are specifically bound to the antibody in gel. The column is then washed to remove unbound other materials. After wash, total aflatoxins are eluted with methanol and collected into analytical vials for HPLC or LC-MS/MS.

This product can selectively extract total aflatoxin (B1, B2, G1, G2) in Food, Feed, Grains, Nuts, Soy Sauce, Vinegar, Spices, and Vegetable Oil samples.
