Ochratoxin A  

Ochratoxin A (OTA), is a secondary metabolite, produced by different Aspergillus and Penicillium species. It exists worldwidely and contaminates predominantly in grains, pork products, coffee, wine grapes, etc. OTA is potentially carcinogenic to humans, and has a strong neurotoxicity and immunotoxicity. Therefore, it is very important to prevent OTA-contaminated food and feed from directly or indirectly entering the food chain. At present, there are strict limits and regulations for OTA in food, feed, and grains all over the world.

Product Design

The principle of Ochratoxin A Immunoaffinity Column is an antigen-antibody reaction. OTA monoclonal antibodies have been immobilised on the in-column gel. The toxins in the sample are extracted, filtered, diluted and then slowly passed through the immunoaffinity column, where OTA molecules are specifically bound to the antibodies in gel. The column is then washed to remove unbound other materials. After wash, OTA toxins can be eluted with methanol-acetic acid and collected into analytical vials for HPLC or LC-MS/MS.
