Ergot Alkaloids

Ergot Alkaloids, derivatives of ergotine, is produced by numerous groups of fungi species of the genus Claviceps. The toxins mainly pollute some cereal grains, such as rye, wheat, barley, and oats. The toxins are highly toxic and can cause nausea, vomiting, decreased blood circulation, and coma. Therefore, there are strict limits and regulations for ergot alkaloids in food and grains all over the world.

Product Design

The principle of Ergot Alkaloids Immunoaffinity Column is an antigen-antibody reaction. Ergot Alkaloids monoclonal antibodies have been immobilized on the in-column gel. The toxins in the sample are extracted, filtered, diluted and then slowly passed through the immunoaffinity column, where Ergot Alkaloids toxin molecules are specifically bound to the antibodies in gel. The column is then washed to remove unbound other materials. After wash, Ergot Alkaloids toxins can be eluted with elution buffer and collected into analytical vials for HPLC or LC-MS/MS.
