What are the types of nucleic acid probes?
Depending on the source and nature, they are categorized as either genomic probes, cDNA probes, RNA probes or oligonucleotide probes.
The probes should be stored at -20°C, away from light, and dispensed in brown tubes. It is recommended to use TE Buffer to dilute and store the probes. This will prevent repeated freezing and thawing, which reduces the service life of the probes.
What is the difference between qPCR probe and FISH probe?
qPCR is commonly used in the detection of infectious disease pathogens, the research of drug resistance genes, the evaluation of drug efficacy, and the diagnosis of genetic diseases.
FISH probeare use to detect gene amplifications, deletions and rearrangements for chromosomal localization of known genes or sequences, uncloned genes or genetic markers, and chromosomal aberrations.
