Description

The biotechrabbit RTS 100 Insect Membrane Kit was the first commercially available in vitro protein synthesis kit based on cell lysates derived exclusively from insect cell cultures. These homogeneous lysates from a Spodoptera frugiperda cell line enable efficient expression of a broad range of eukaryotic proteins with posttranslational modifications. Now, with an optimized lysate production procedure, this kit is even more efficient.

In addition, the lysates contain functional organelle membrane fractions, whose activity is required for posttranslational modification of eukaryotic proteins, including membrane proteins.

RTS 100 Insect Membrane Kit can be used with linear templates as well as expression vectors.

in vitro transcription/translation protein expression products are manufactured using quality chemicals and materials that meet our high standards. All product components are subjected to rigorous quality assurance testing process:

Component testing: each component is tested to ensure the composition and quality meet stated specifications.
Performance testing: each product is tested to ensure it meets the stated performance specification.

Protocols

A broad range of eukaryotic proteins require posttranslational modifications such as phosphorylation, glycosylation, or signal peptide cleavage to display full functional activity. The RTS 100 Insect Membrane Kit provides the possibility to synthesize eukaryotic proteins with posttranslational modifications and is therefore of special importance for expression and analysis of human proteins. Each 50 µl reaction provides up to 2.5 µg protein. This is sufficient for initial screening in numerous applications, such as activity and small molecule inhibition assays, protein interaction assays (e.g., pull-downs) and solubility studies.
