Proteogenix has developed neutralizing antibodies against 2019-nCOV (as named by WHO when SARS-CoV-2 begun to spread). The Anti-2019-nCoV-(S1)-1 antibody is an IgM isotype, especially targeting the S1 part of the Spike protein. This product is a human-origin monoclonal antibody expressed in a mammalian system, which has been validated in binding assays and infection assays. The molecular weight is 150 kDa.
The spike protein is a transmembrane viral fusion protein. Spike has a homotrimeric structure and each monomere is composed of two subunits: S1 and S2. The S1 part is carrying the Receptor Binding Domain (RBD), and the S2 part is responsible of the fusion of the virus with the cellular membrane. The RBD Part of S1 is binding the Angiotensin Converting Enzyme 2 (ACE2) in the organism.
It is a non-specific immunoglobulin of adaptive immunity. Indeed, secretion does not require the intervention of a helper T lymphocyte. They exist in 2 structural forms in the human organism: secreted or embedded in cell membrane. If secreted, IgM are circulating as a typical pentameric structure.

QC & Validation Data
Anti-2019-nCoV(S1)-1 IgM antibody, on SDS-PAGE under reducing and non-reducing conditions. The gel was stained overnight with Coomassie Blue. The purity of the protein is greater than 95%.
