Deoxynivalenol
Deoxynivalenol (DON), well known as vomitoxin, in addition to zearalenone, fumonisines and other trichothecenes belongs to the fusarium toxins. Deoxynivalenol is a gastrointestinal irritant and an inhibitor in protein synthesis. Acute toxic dosages result insickness and emesis. As a result, most countries have strict legal requirements or surveillance systems for the toxin.
Application
